Is har-tru better or worse than the real clay and why?
Jack - February 25, 2010 at 2:25 pm |
There is no better or worse in this case only different. Har-tru will dry faster than real clay. this can be good and bad depending on wether you have a lot of rain or if you want the courts to dry faster. Real clay holds in more moisture and will retain water longer (less watering is needed which will save money). Har-tru will dry faster and you will be able to play sooner than real clay, however it will require more watering. See our site at http://www.sportsurfaces.com for more detailed information on clay surfaces.

What do you need to prepare for laying new turf ?
sports surface
Hancey's Turf - December 6, 2010 at 6:06 am |
I am assuming that you want to lay synthetic turf. If this is the case it is imperative that the sub-base you are using be laser graded. Here at sportsurfaces.com we use a dual grade laser to achieve maximum precision. One inch of asphalt will than be placed over the sub-base and the synthetic turf can than be carefully applied to the surface.

A hart tru tennis court surfaces is a synthetic clay surface wich is made up of pulverized volcanic rock which is mined from sections of the rocky mountains. It is a very popular tennis court surface as it relatively low impact.
Please see our website at sportsurfaces.com for more information on different types of surfaces.

How expensive could a har-tru job be on three tennis courts? Lets say that they’re in the worst kind of condition possible.
Melissa Hortis - August 20, 2011 at 4:30 pm |
Thanks for contacting sportsurfaces.com. Har-tru court cost can vary from about $30k to $60k each depending on wether it is above or below ground irrigation or wether you have lights or not. Don’t forget that you will be spending about $3k / year between water and maintenance. If you want a soft and maintenance court I would Recomend a cushion hard court.
